Anyone watch the Lancs cricket show on Channel M tonight? It's a good concept and interesting to actually here some of the players you don't usually see. Also quite annoying that it was a gorgeous day when they didn't most of the filming and it was awful today!

Its a minority channel on the Sky platform. I think the M stands for Manchester as the programmes are all about Manchester.

Milton Keynes also had their own channel (MKTV) but that seems to have died an early death.

Yes, the M is for Manchester. It used to be on the analogue signal but reception was very poor. It probably still is, but then it became available digitally. I keep forgetting about it, though, and can't remember the channel number.

It is on 203 on Sky but also on Virgin and Freeview there is an article about it on the Lancs website.

Just noticed that Lancs don't have a championship fixture next week. No doubt the weather will be glorious next week. How many of the Lancs players will play the 2nd XI game to get some form?

Also noticed that the 2nd XI game was called off without a ball bowled. Poor Tom Smith no cricket for the 2's and 1 over for the 1's.

Seems a bit strange playing Smith at all really with the rest of the bowling attack, I'd have played a batsman instead.

It seems to me that we were short of at least 5 batsmen.

Ahhh, the England One Day strategy.

Lancs keeps selecting far more bowlers than required at the expense of the batting. I know the Lancs squad is short of batting and long in bowling but that's really not a great excuse to queer selection. I don't mind having 5 proper front line bowlers but there's no need for 6.

The batting did look like it was going well at one stage we were 244 for 1 and we then went to 272 for 5. That is 5 wickets for 18! If we are not careful we could still lose this.

Hopefully Fred will strengthen the batting on Sunday should the weather be fit as the ECB have said he can play as a batsman only.

Yes, potentially rather a good result for Lancs that.

Common sense by the ECB for a change. This would not have happened in the Fletcher era!

Erm....didn't it happen against us, last year in the Twenty20? He may have bowled in that one as well, but I think there were other games where he was a batsman only

Where are we going to get them from? All we are doing is pick more all rounders.... soon we will have a Lancs allrounder XI

1 Marshall
2 Flintoff
3 Hodge
4 Croft
5 Hogg
6 Sutton
7 Chapple
8 Cork
9 Smith
10 Mahmood
11 Anderson (in for his fielding)

From MEN -
Perhaps that lack of momentum was also something to do with the absence of their main strike bowler Kabir Ali.

The former England paceman, who claimed a career best eight for 50 on day one, was hit on the head by a fierce James Anderson delivery while batting yesterday, and continued to suffer the after effects of a nasty headache for the first half-hour of play.

I remember in the early days when Anderson got hit for 4 he used to get the batsmen in their box next ball but all that stopped until this match. Hick hit him for a boundary and next ball had to throw his bat down in pain after getting hit in the elbow. So I am glad to see this aggression back.

Agression is good just as long as he doesn't do a Saj Mahmood and damage our batsman in the nets!
