Yes he is a very good prospect. Josh Cobb is another youngster to look out for.

I'd rather do what Leicestershire (and Glamorgan) do and have a whole load of kids, than watch a team of disinterested Kolpaks top up their pensions.

Watching the kids develop and improve as players and as a team will be far more rewarding than most teams' seasons. With such a youthful side, there's nothing wrong with then having one or two more experienced pros alongside them.

Does anyone know what Alex Roberts is like? He has just signed for us after playing in the seconds. He has previously played for Yorkshire seconds, Durham seconds and Essex

Ned Eckersley and Paul Dixey have both signed new contracts, so with Paul New as well, they won't be short in the gloves department after Nicco's retirement.

Thought Eckersley looked a really good prospect during the final month of last season - glad to see he's got a new deal.

According to The Cricketer, Paul New has left, so Eckerseley could play a major role next year.

In: Dixey, Eckersley, R Taylor
Out: Gurney, McDonald, Nixon, J Taylor?, Van Jaarsveld

The departures of Gurney, McDonald, Nixon, Van Jaarsveld and potentially Taylor leaves a gaping hole in their side the batting department which was Leicestershire achilles heel last season.

Looking at 2XI stats Ned Eckersley with 1,357 runs @ 42 with a best of 133* impressed. Left arm spinner Jamie Sykes with 63 wickets @ 27 including 8-55 against Durham can count himself extremely unfortunate not to be offered a contract.
