Then they can concentrate on fortifying the bowling, which they need to do if they are to make a challenge in the championship.

Another cracking bowling change from Wallace ... brings on North first change, and gets the Hampshire skipper out!

... And then Dawson too in the same over!

Well, it didn't work out.

Still think Glamorgan could be a decent side with a few shrewd recruitments - you only have to look at Derbyshire and Northants to see that going from also-rans to contenders can happen.

It almost paid off, so i'm not going to complain about it. It's nice to see us go for a win instead of playing for a draw. We need some consistency throughout the team if we want to be serious promotion contenders.

Great game of cricket though (says she with a foot in both camps). It's so good for the game in general when captains make brave declarations so that a match is win-able.

Goodwin has certainly proved an excellent acquisition - a new lease of life with tons of runs.

Runs again for Rees, too.

He has, he had a slow start but has come into his own, just hope we can get another season or two from him as he'll improve our younger batsmen.

Hopefully we can take a few early Lancs wickets too.

As I was at the Test on Thursday, I missed that Rees got yet another ton! What a revival!

After a rather lame home defeat to Kent during the week, Glamorgan are playing a limited-overs semi-final today, against Hampshire, and after being put in have lost their captain quite early. It's the biggest game I can remember for Glamorgan. Come on lads! May go to the pub a bit later, as it may be on there ...

After 13 overs of the Hampshire reply, the Glams are definitely on top. There is however no situation from which they cannot smoothly corpse.

Well played Glammy! Northants REALLY wanted Allenby back then. Top player.

Huzzahs. Really wanted Glamy to get there so I had someone to back while at Lords. Now I have.

Three months ago Rees can't have imagined he'd be opening the batting in a Lord's final.
