I might pop along to the Glam/Middlesex game tomorrow, weather permitting.

Well I didn't pop along as last read, and in fact we got trounced in the 40/40 match.

In the current match v Northants we really crabbed along on the batting, so I assume it'll be a draw.

Need JAR Harris to grab a 5fer at some point though.

So, looks like I'll have to keep this thread afloat - unlike Glamorgan's batting which will surely drown today under the almighty pressure of Robin Martin-Jenkins and Luke Wright. FFS.

JAR Harris has 8 wickets for the match, nice work.

Unfortunately, he is still second fiddle to Finn on the young seamer sweepstakes. This needs to change -ASAP.

S4C are going to be showing some of the Glamorgan T20 games starting with Gloucs on Friday. It's channel 135 on Sky. No idea what language the commentary will be in!

It will probably be Welsh but I don't think it matters.

Did Glam fans expect to be in contention for promotion?

A report on Wales Online said that the decision to remove Dalrymple from his role was taken without Matthew Maynard, the director of cricket, and that both may now consider their position at Glamorgan. Dalrymple, who joined from Middlesex, has one year to run on his current contract.

Really messed up at Glamorgan by the sounds of it. All of the players and playing staff wanted Cosgrove to be back next season but it sounds like the board didn't like him or his fitness, and said they were considering his place based on the fact that 'he didn't make enough match winning contributions'. Now this.

I worked briefly at Arthur Andersen for Paul Russell who runs the club. Clever man but..... Ive heard this is all about unhappiness with one day cricket. Dalyrymple will make a decent signing for someone. Id have him at Warwicks for sure.

A strange decision and seemingly completely out of the blue regarding the captaincy aspect, although I had heard about the possibility that Cosgrove wouldn't return.

I had been impressed with the way Dalrymple and Maynard had combined to improve Glamorgan's fortunes with a talented young squad. Cosgrove up for grabs - we might chortle at his size but he's a fine player at county level and superb to watch.

Welsh paper saying that Yorkshire are interested in him. Would be a decent replacement for Rudolph.

Looking at 606, the outrage is aimed much more at the decision not to re-sign Cosgrove, rather than dumping Dalrymple as captain.

As for Yorkshire and Cosgrove - Moxon has already given statements how the gap that Rudolph leaves will be an opportunity for the younger batsmen at the club; to then sign Cosgrove would be a little hypocritical. The pros are that Cosgrove would be an excellent one-day player, and would fill a gap in all forms; the cons, that he's spent most of his time in Division 2, so I'm not sure if he'll do quite so well in Division 1, and he's hardly a great role model.

^^^^^^

IMO after what Moxon have said Yorks will start with what we've got .. but if things start to go badly we'll try to sign an overseas player
