Although, if we go on a run as mind-numbing as we did in lasts year's C & G I may have to relocate to the Upper Pavilion so the players, and the TV/radio boys get the benefit of my wisdom

Rejoice MPT - your membership payement has spurred the club onto greatness

"Warwickshire CCC have secured their first trophy of the 2007 season thanks to Carmen Bear who finished second in the Brindley Place mascot race on Friday night. The race was staged to kick start the weekend of the European Athletic Championships which were being held in the city from 2nd March."

They didn't seem to complain about the new development / corbuncle type thing going up near Cannon Hill Park ........

Lets have some lights........

I'll mention this on the OS

29 Days to go !!!!

Wed 4 Apr to Thu 5 Apr Oxford UCCE PS Friendly The Parks - Oxford
Tue 10 Apr to Wed 11 Apr Gloucestershire CCC PS Friendly Edgbaston
Fri 13 Apr Derbyshire PS Friendly The County Ground - Derby
Wed 18 Apr to Sat 21 Apr Lancashire LVCC 1 Edgbaston 11.00am
Sun 22 Apr Northamptonshire Trophy N Edgbaston 10.45am
Wed 25 Apr to Sat 28 Apr Sussex LVCC 1 Edgbaston 11.00am

I note that quite a few of the BBC counties board contributors still post at the Tavs site (http://www.off-the-wall-photography....orum.php?f=22). I hope we don't all loose contact !

Yes MPT - and I don't think it unfair to say that we do need to group together with not just fellow Bears fans but others from years of posting on the old BBC counties board. Too many changes in too few months.

The problem is, when I can, I check on the old TAVS site and there doesn't seem to be much activity on there either.

Cricket247 has become my "home" over the last few months so I'm not planning on relocating again. I guess others will eventually find their way here, just like they did when we came across from the BBC to The TAVS then from there to the cricket247.NET site.

It's all gone a little quite around here, perhaps it the quiet before the (start of the county championship) storm?

I have expressed my concerns on the Bears OS

The quitness MPT, may of course be that many are strewn across too many forums. They need a shepherd to bring them home - to the promissed land. Anyone who only posts in the season is in for a shock when their browser points them to a dead end.....Any more Bears out of hibernation yet ? Or are we all scattered across the post BBC counties board appocolipse of forums and forum coups and indeed sons of forums.... I continue to visit the TAVs to find any lost Bears ! Important as the new season will soon be on us and we must regroup for the challenges ahead.....

As for the Bears Forums - I loose track Kim..... was this one an additional one as a new membership benefit - like the Coach's emails (?).

Oh and we mustn't forget the CC shirts have team information on them this year - hooray

"I haven’t made any approaches as yet, but the nature of county cricket is that everyone helps out at such moments."

If I were Povey or Greatbach I'd tell the pears to get stuffed and serves em right for having such a crap ground in a crap place in a crap county - i should know - I live there (just). Glad they do flood though as it goves me some ammo against my idiot english teacher!

Jack, as a matter of interest, is your teacher's first name?

my teacher is mr edward turner. He's not that bad really - its just he an english teacher who supports worcester, it's almost as bad as a science teacher supporting sunderland.

It's gone a bit quiet here and on the tavs board, where is everyone? or were you just waiting in anticipation for my answer?

Afternoon one and all

Yes, it is true, that we are far too fragmented across various boards. Plus, there's not allot to discuss at the moment on the domestic front. I guess this is the 'calm before the storm'.

Still, only a few weeks until the old "Playfair" is released. Essential purchase!

Afternoon MPT - afternoon all

Indeed an essential purchase – so much packed into a little book…… But why is it called ‘playfair’ I ask….. does this date back to a bygone era when Capatins yelled ‘playfair’ !

Anyway I digress

It may be the clam before the storm, but there seemed far more banter in the middle of winter rather than the beginning of the end of the close season. We are indeed about three weeks from our first friendly against Oxford at the Parks, so I would expect the pre-season discussions to start – but where ?
