Morning Warely

As you can see, I'm getting rather exited by the highly antipated arrival of one Mr. Kumar Sangakarra.

Let's just hope he dosen't do a Bond/Vettori on it.

(See you in 'Section 19' )

Section 19 have dwindled in strength or vocalness over the last two to three years. Hardly their vocal self thesedays. Perhaps they have indeed been sectioned or are now sitting in row zz of the section 25 of the Eric Holies stand ?

Anyway - seems as if the Membership cards are comming out even later this year....... in anticipation of the last minute rush on Saturday. I wounder if Colin and James did hire those models for a picture of the queue

Anyway its all getting close:

Wed 4 Apr to Thu 5 Apr Oxford UCCE PS Friendly The Parks - Oxford
Tue 10 Apr to Wed 11 Apr Gloucestershire CCC PS Friendly Edgbaston
Fri 13 Apr Derbyshire PS Friendly The County Ground - Derby
Wed 18 Apr to Sat 21 Apr Lancashire LVCC 1 Edgbaston

Yep, it would seem they are going to be cutting it fine.

Perhaps, we can expect an announcement on the official site soon along the lines of:

Quote:
Exclusive Membership Card Priority Scheme

The club are proud to announce the inaugural “Membership Card Priority Scheme” that allows current members the chance, for a one-off fee of £5 (£10 if the payment day ends in a “y”), to get exclusive upfront card delivery.

Avoid the rush and apply online today.

Warwickshire CCC – giving you more, for more.

Right out of the Colin and James methodology. Sure you haven't been bugging those stratadgy meetings MPT

I thought you would like this posting under a thread about the coach MPT on the OS "MG 2006- A pretty good job in difficult circumstances. In 2007 we supporters also have a job to do - ie to get behind the team and not be over critical." So MGT, there you are - don't be critical !

Anyway as someone predicted ..... more money spinning ideas

WARWICKSHIRE CCC LAUNCHES 125 CLUB03/04/07

Last night, Warwickshire CCC announced their 125 Club initiative at a Chamber of Commerce 225th Anniversary Celebration event held at Edgbaston.

Fittingly, the scheme has been launched in the Club’s 125th Anniversary year and is aimed to raise over £125,000 from local businesses to support the development of youth cricket via the Warwickshire Cricket Board.

Patrons of the new scheme are Dennis Amiss MBE, Ian Bell OBE, Gladstone Small OBE and Wasim Khan who all developed their successful playing careers through the youth set up at Edgbaston.

A member of the 125 Club will receive two hospitality tickets for both the summer’s NatWest One Day Internationals, an exclusive 125 evening with the patrons and other members and will have their name inscribed on an official 125 honours board positioned in the Edgbaston Cricket Centre.

Commercial Director, James McLaughlin, believes the scheme has great potential, “It is an opportunity for the local business community to become involved with such a prestigious Club for as little as £1,000 and we hope to build further relationship with local firms in and around the city through this initiative.

Anyway - we move on

The squad travelling to The Parks for the two day pre-season fixture against Oxford University, starting tomorrow, is as follows :

Ian Westwood
Navdeep Poonia
Jonathan Trott
Jim Troughton (*)
Alex Loudon
Luke Parker
Tim Groenewald
Nick James
Michael Barnes (+)
Stuart Hole
Andy Miller
James Anyon

Jim Troughton, who is captaining the side, said, “ I’m honoured to Captain the side, this will be our first competitive match on home soil since returning from Grenada. It gives the younger lads who prepared at home the chance to get some runs and overs under their belts and those who were lucky enough to go on tour will be able to practise in more English conditions!”

Afternoon Warely (and everyone else of course ),

The glaring omission of one Mr. D. Maddy has immediately caught my eye, have I missed something? Or is the erstwhile 'twenty20 legend' not deemed a first team candidate for the longer game. I would like to think that was the case, but I suspect he's injured or "rested"?

The pre-season tension is starting to mount! C'mon!

Afternoon !

Perhaps he didn't fancy the damp

Are Streak and Carter out of the country.... injured or keeping in the warm ?

Or is this an oppotunity for those who might not get much of an oppotunity this season ?

Joining the 125 club MPT - or getting a table for the dinner ?

The linkola no work-o for me-o! (There's plenty of technical reasons for this...but life’s to short!)

Could you give us the gist of the article? Was it something to do with the Bob Woolmer memorial service?

Many congratulations to Dougie, perhaps now he can retire gracefully

(Sorry, it wouldn’t be me without a backhanded comment! )

"Scotland and Warwickshire all-rounder Dougie Brown has been elected as the new chairman of the Professional Cricketers’ Association.

Brown, who recently returned from a dismal World Cup campaign with Scotland in the West Indies, pipped fellow former England internationals Dominic Cork and Chris Adams to the post."

Whilst his performance was described by the artical as dismal, I believe he has to still be a professional cricketer to be chairman ?
