Pakistan in South Africa series

Pakistan win the toss and bat but lost two early wickets. Steyn becomes South Africa's leading wicket taker in Tests.

Good toss to lose for SA.

Pakistan in all sorts of trouble. 96/7.

Good recovery to 181ao.

Steyn may have the record but the day so far belongs to Duanne Olivier with a six-fer

Reminds me of Ben Stokes

EDIT: Need to move the Stickys around to reflect the current cricket, Chin.

Hi, sorry I've not been around much Anarchy. I have done this now while I have a little more time. This is looking a good low scoring match with SA having eeked out a 42 run lead but Pakistan having a solid opening stand of 61. You would have thought SA wouldn't want to chase more than 250 more.

He looks a good player, especially compared to a lot of openers playing Test cricket at the moment.

And departs for 57! After looking quite good, the game is back in the balance with a couple of quick wickets and Pak equivalent of 60 or so for 3.

Pakistan win the toss, bat first and lose. Does this upset the trend we were discussing prior to Christmas or as their batting isn't very good, is it discounted from the stats?

Wasn’t that Asian tests?

Disappointing show from Pak, with their customary flashes of promise but in the end poor batting from the lower middle order down. SA at home are tough opponents but did look a bit vulnerable coming into this game with bowling injuries and a far dodgier batting line up than they’ve had for most of the time since readmission.

You wouldn't expect any trend to hold good 100% of the time. On another note it doesn't look like Olivier will be available for Yorkshire on a Kolpak now.

He might be doing a Kyle Abbott and increasing his potential county salary?

Not discounted at all. However, finding a touring team overturn the toss advantage seems to be somewhat harder to find.

Also worth adding that this was the first ever Test where both captains achieved pairs!!

All pace from South Africa, as BVP replaces Maharaj. Win the toss and bowl.

Looking like the right decision (even if some S African commentator has just told us that Pakistan won the toss and surprised everyone by electing to bat - Haysman I think).

Starting to look like a re-run on the First Test. Can Pakistan cause trouble with the ball now especially with Mo Abbas back?

Certainly not a road. The ball that took out Amla's leg stump went miles. Pakistan may still have a chance.

Sydney's groundsmen (curators!) should have looked to prepare something like this. Cracks all over the place.
