England under-19 player Shiv Thakor, who is still just 18, has produced a string of impressive batting performances for Leicestershire in recent weeks. Looks an extremely difficult player to dismiss.

I shall be going to Scarborough tomorrow to watch Joe Root play for Yorkshire for the last time. Too early maybes but 'events' etc etc.

Hales just hit 89 from 52 in his debut in the convict big bash, only arrived in the colony that morning too.
Quite a player I think.

What happened to Ben Stokes?...

One minute he was sliced bread then Buttler, Bairstow and Root are the faces...

Or has he died and i missed it?...

He got injured the season before last. When he came back he wasn't quite the same player. Had the occasional good performance. He might be back to his best for the coming season.

In the light of this week's events, it would be a good idea if Stokes turned professional soon. These are not the days when you are sent home because you wear the wrong colour tie to an MCC lunch. Fat Freddie was told to go away and lose weight. Young Ben needs to grow up. Massive ability. No maturity.
