After first innings at Ahmedabad:

Test dismissals since last test hundred

Prior 19
Bell 17
Collingwood 14*
Trott 12
Bopara 10**
Strauss 8
Morgan 7*
Cook 6
Pietersen 2*

Yet to get a test hundred
Bairstow 5*
Patel 3*
Taylor 3*
Compton 1

Asterix marks number of times dropped since last hundred

England have only scored six test hundreds in 19 innings in 2012 - Pietersen 2, Strauss 2, Cook 1, Trott 1.

What are the chances of a recall?

Hm actually, he is in India with the BCCI commentary team. England's catching is pretty ropey...

Now Ramps has gone, other than Rob Key (11), are there any other specialist batsmen knocking around county cricket (other than Tresco who unfortunately retired through illness) who have scored a test hundred for England?

Can't see any. There's a dearth of ready made batting replacements in the shires - blokes who have half a dozen or more Test hundreds under their belt and ripe to be recalled (as with Amiss, J.Edrich, Boycott etc).

Thanks for the reminder. Too lazy to check back!

Ed Joyce.
Geraint Jones.

You say specialist batsmen but Prior is in the current list. And Jones was selected for his batting.

And Tim Ambrose.

When did Ed Joyce get a test hundred?

For that point, when did he get a test cap?

Had forgotten Tim Ambrose (and his sisters).

I was going to mention Ravi but he is already being monitored.

Kim and grannie
- My mistake on Joyce, could have sworn he had played a few tests.

Only by GBG

His bowling might have him classified as a genuine all-rounder the way things are going with the ball as well.

I'll make a request for Prior to be removed from the list, it's not the same for him batting at 7. He doesn't deserve the pitchforks and torches, at least.

I didn't want to be showing any favouritism. I think batting is an important part of his job and he needs to be able to score centuries. He's also batted at 6 in some tests ahead of Patel and some people (well Aggers mainly) want us to go in with 5 bowlers which would put him at 6. I wouldn't dream of dropping him though.

I tried to do pitchforks for Trott, but it would only let me do 4 pictures.

Surely Trott is more deserving though GBG, seeing as his career is in terminal decline
