Nice ironic twist there, gbg, placing the deathwatch devils next to KP and Cook rather than Prior. Although as a wicket keeper batting at 7 he doesn't have the same opportunity to make centuries, as has been said.

But the batting seems now to be in good order.

Prior clearly needs dropping...

Better edit that one now eh.

Quality innings from Prior. He'd have about at least half dozen more test centuries if he weren't down at 7.

Number of droppings since last last ton / over career for those yet to get one, I think.

Interesting. Sachin Tendulkar, who holds the record for most test centuries, averages 1 century per 6.4 test innings. He also took 13 test innings to record his first century

Interesting because looking at the above list there are many who question the test position of three of our current top 6 batsmen. Two of who are relative rookies and one who is going through a lean spell.

Could we do the same for the bowlers and fivefers?

Very eager there, Gbg. The innings hasn't finished yet.

Yes, delighted to move Root up from the list of no test centuries to the list of test centurions. He's looked a real find ever since he came into the side and today just confirmed it. Hopefully it's the first of many.

I only meant you are going to have to redo the table for the people who have batted since and are still there, eg. Prior.

The ICC ranking adjudicators will have to wait for the end of the match before moving Root up into the top 10.
