Hello all we are travelling to Goa in January hoping to get to the ODI in Pune during our stay. I'm wondering if anyone else is in the resort around this time its about 6-7 hours drive away if enough interest maybe we could hire a minibus and pool recourses? Many thanks..

I'm afraid that journey from Goa to Pune is way, way longer than a 6-7 hour drive. You are talking at least double that time quite honestly. They really don't have that extended highways and the Mumbai-Goa "expressway" is hardly that given the number of times that it goes to 1 lane and you are stuck behind large lorries . If you were keen to go you might consider taking the train up to Mumbai and then go on to Pune from there but if you are doing anything other than flying it will take a considerable amount of time.

I have done this trip from Mumbai to Goa by road last year and went from Mumbai down to Ratnagiri (half way between Mumbai-Goa) and that in itself is a good 6-7 hour journey and it was a similar story for the rest of the trip a couple of days later.

Try for flights (Air Asia, especially) between Goa and Pune and you might end up getting some good deals. SpiceJet or IndiGo are the other lower cost airlines.
