So Yorkshire dropped Plunkett today for failing to turn up for training and a photo call. And after all the complaints about Yorkshire players being wasted carrying drinks in the Caribbean.

You shouldn't carry drinks when you're wasted. It's not worth the risk.

It's a good point. I generally used to find that downing them worked better. Well, in some respects anyway.

Extra points for finding this in a post mentioning Plunkett.

Wondered why he wasn't playing.

Another 50 for Capey.

He needs to go on, but is actually averaging over 80 for the season in fc cricket (so not including that 170 he got against the students).

Goes to his ton just before lunch in a not terribly high scoring game. His red ball scores this season are:

(170 against students - not FC)
19
53*
32
8* (match saving not out over two days - one of them may have been rained off)
101*

Looks like a couple of failures / modest scores so far and a bunch of not outs to average 106.5 (pending completion of this innings, of course. Do you think the goalposts are revving up yet?

100 up now. He is evidently matching up to Sangakkara's high standards, whatever the relative merits of the oppo bowling.

FTFY.

In all genuine honesty, Leicestershire are a team on the up. Admittedly there was no other direction for them to go but they nearly forced a win v Kent last week. Still not sure about their bowling attack, mind.

Small sample size, just the five innings, second division attacks, lots of not outs blah but he's clearly still got it. Who's going to push Ian Bell under that bus (metaphorical or literal) for the sake of English cricket?

Bell's a world class bloke - he'll do it himself in a heartbeat.

Pleased to see that Moeen has had more of a bowl today and picked up two wickets. Meanwhile apparent England hopeful Danny Briggs isn't even in the Hampshire side today.

Has it been confirmed that runs vs Leicester have first class status

He did well in the last home series against Australia so I think he will be given the chance to do it again.

A third century of the season for a resurgent hildreth today. Put these with his three fifties and we have a ready made aggressive Middle order smasher.

But Briggs can't bat so by definition is a specialist spinner so must play. Keep up.
