I am pretty sure parody accounts are meant to be funny and make sense. Sadly your post did neither.

How many first class innings without a ton is it for kp now? Is it almost 20? I appreciate it is hard for his followers to admit but he was on the decline in test cricket in the way he had already declined in ODI cricket. I wish we could all remember his brilliance between 2005 and 2012. It is a shame a brilliant player is being made to look foolish.
What by only having scored at an average of 50 across three innings? Oh and huge struggle to recall his last ton, which was all of 4 innings ago (yes, yes, we know, arbitrarily not first class by comparison with the equally silly uni games that are). Given that you like your small and cherry picked sample sizes, how does his ODI record of decline look like based on recent innings starting from the Abu Dhabi series against Pakistan?

Even you, FS, would have to accept that there was a decline in ODI performance over a period of three years between a century at the end of 2008 and his next one in Abu Dhabi, during which period he made just 3 50+ scores and averaged about 20.

Whether this was the cause of his lack of interest in playing ODIs or whether it was a greater interest in t20s and dissatisfaction with 50 over cricket that led to the decline, I have no idea. But not long after bouncing back in the UAE ODIs he asked the ECB for permission to retire from ODIs and continue to be available for t20 selection. This request was turned down and then we had the big fall-out. I mean the first big fall-out. Oh sorry, I think I mean the second big fall-out.

It can't possibly be that KP is capable of raising his performance and using it as a bargaining tool, can it? Perish the thought.

So in the unlikely possibility that Pietersen can raise his performance to order with a specific goal in mind, we should expect him to be scoring runs at will for Surrey. However, he's not getting any younger, he's still feeling his way back into first-class cricket, and the last time he was at his exciting best was the Mumbai test in 2012.

The spirit may be willing, but the flesh is weak.

And having said all this, I wait to be proved wrong.

You jinxed him and he's not an England prospect anyway - we just need him to score runs for Essex.

Some good reports from somerset's first couple of matches re Overton j. He is bowling FAST. nothing a short spell with england can't cure. Few sights in sport are better than a cartwheeling stump.

Being outbowled by Gregory though?

Apparently my phone doesn't have Gregory in its autocorrect dictionary. But it does have Gergiev and Gregson. It also didn't have autocorrect. Technology, lol.

Gregory is a very good bowler. He will be a quality county pro. He started as an opening batsman though so I am not sure we are allowed to discuss his exceptional bowling (average about 25 playing half your matches as Taunton is not bad)

Thanks, I was channeling you, which ought to have been pretty obvious, as I said as much. Point being that the when did he last score a FC ton stat is about as sensible a measure as the ODI period I picked.

Still has a more recent international century than our two current owners however.

I would rate Gregory ahead of the twins. It must be time for a Lions tour.

That's impressive. I've not seen much of him, is he different to what we have? How quick is he? We need different, not just the same as Jimmy, Broad, Jordan, Woakes et al.

Hmmm. Could he be better? Please say "Yes".

The problem as I see it is that we have lots of good players but very few with the x-factor. Many who excel in county cricket and will do well against weaker Test nations, or India at home but not many who can step up against the likes of South Africa and Australia in particular. This seems to be the case in both batting and bowling.
