I find it incredible South African think they go into a game of international cricket with Morris at seven and that's without even judging Behardien at six - granted his done a little bit better of late. Is the cupboard really that bare?

On a positive note Rabada really doesn't look out of place does he?

Well England can go into a match with Moeen at 1 and Bell at 3...

SA setting a big total here. Tons to de Kock, de Villiers and du Plessis.

Brilliant from South Africa. DeVilliers must be the star of World cricket at the moment.

De Villiers can do just about anything, I guess, when he is batting. I wonder how big the ground has to be for him to struggle hitting a six.

Surely he's penned in as an all-time great now. He's been the consistently dominant batsman in world cricket for a while now and he displays elements of genius at the crease.

He's the greatest 50 over batsman of all-time. I think his test great status is currently lacking a defining innings or series - although this is probably down to the lack of test cricket South Africa play: he hasn't played a 4 test match series since 2009 and a 5 test match series since his debut. I'd struggle to name a series he dominated; a match winning innings where he carried the team.

He played a couple of great innings in Australia but probably didn't carry the team because a few had made runs ahead of him though he needed to see the team home. The last time they came to oz he showed he could make runs quickly when required or dig in to help save the test in Adelaide with Faf.

In a few weeks time England will have to bowl at him. Can't be looking forward to it.

RSA on top at the moment with the part time spin of Dean Elgar taking 3 cheap wickets to restrict the hosts to 116/5.

154-7 with Elgar picking up his 4th. India still can't play mediocre spin. So I guess that's the real reason why they don't want to play Pakistan. t
They might get whitewashed by spinners instead of by the old school Pakistani quicks.

Exactly, these Indians cannot play spin, even if it's part time, fairly useless, spin. We saw that when they collapsed against Moeen. Now Elgar does it, LOL!!!

Woah, that wrapped up quickly. Sounded like Philander was working Jadeja over but they were survivingng against the new ball. Then 3 wickets in 2 overs and it's done for. Good day for SA. Let's see how they get on on this slow pitch.

It would appear that ZA are as clueless against spin as England.

SA 9-2 with Du Plessis having departed shouldering arms to Jadeja. I'm wondering if this could be a tight low scorer?

I don't expect either second innings to go the same way. I think both teams are just getting their heads into test mode.

Apparently the wicket is already dry and over done so ought to favour spin more as time goes on. At the risk of getting comments from DL that tell us more about him than about anyone else, I layed the draw on this game with India 3 down and have been delighted to see wickets tumble in clusters and heaps since.
