Sounds like an impressive performance from Chameera. He's supposed to be pretty quick.

Yeah he's pretty brisk - played a game against India earlier this year where he was fast but a bit wayward.

Particularly impressive to get Williamson for 1 given his recent form. Lanka still have some work to do - don't want to collapse in the third innings especially with so much time left in the game - but really, Chameera has put them in an excellent position to close out a famous win.

Think NZ a bit guilty if not respecting opponents or format or both. After a fantastic end to day and first session of day 2 (wrapped up last 6 wickets for 33 runs then got to 60/0 at lunch), threw wickets away badly to be in real trouble in this game. If SL gets off to a decent start to second innings the final innings chase could be a big one.

Was good to see him persist with the plan that they'd evidently devised over lunch despite conceding 13 from the first over... I think there were wickets in his next three overs.

Great start to today for Sri Lanka, getting Boult caught midwicket playing a weak pull shot for only 5 more runs added and now seeing off two new balls (it's been changed twice) in adding 32 without loss. This is a seriously strong position now. Unless NZ breaks through soon and keeps breaking through, the target in the fourth innings is going to be seriously steep.

And that seems to have happened, now... Jayasundera very, very unlucky to be adjudged out on the DRS. Nothing on Snicko, nothing I could see on Hotspot. The other wickets fell to a plan though.

How many wickets with short pitched bowling in this match?

Hideous, hideous collapse. 10 wickets for 60-odd runs after an opening partnership of 70-odd. Bizarre batting... and they looked so good at the start of play...

Roughly all of them. Terrible batting against the bouncer from both sides.

Sri lanka thought they were playing T20. Pity Geoff Boycott wasn't commentating.

Williamson has in reality been the difference here.

What an incredible calendar year he's had.

It suggests that he's not going to play in the World T20. I must say that slightly surprises me but fair enough. Has been a key figure in NZs rise the last few years. I take it he'll probably play in the t20 leagues for a few years yet.

Not the greatest start for Sri Lanka in the ODI series, collapsing to 28/5

I was very surprised by his retirement, wondered if it had anything to do with the Cairns thing.

This ODI seems to be going the same way as the first one.

Shocking stuff from Sri Lanka on a not particularly testing surface. I've been impressed with the Kiwi reserve quick bowlers but they're not that good.

Just the 36 overs of horror for Sri Lanka.
