Looks like the Cape Town sun has brought out Compton's blonde highlights.

Will Piedt get Stokes out reverse sweeping again?

Last 10 overs 75 runs.

Brilliant century from Stokes - this partnership is series defining.

It's still early in the Test Match, but you feel like you're watching the final rites for this SA team's era of dominance...

A win in this series and India looks like a fluke / the effect of horribly turning pitches, but this is just no way to treat a number one side...

After two poor innings and a rather streaky one?

I hope, and expect, we'll see Compton opening with Cook before too long.

Just started watching today's play. Stokes must have been on fire!

Another hour of this and Les Ames' record for number of runs before lunch will be in serious danger.

Biggest 6th wicket partnership against South Africa since Barrington and Parks, apparently. That must have stood for a while!

****.

I knew I shouldn't have had a lie-in this morning.

The lunchtime highlights had better be extensive!

Amla is all at sea but weren't there any backroom plans? Surely there are coaches and former players who could be giving him some tactical help? Too late for this innings. The horses escaped last night. I'm not complaining, this is fabulous by Stokes and Bairstow, but I feel embarrassed for SA.

Edit: scrap that. I'm remembering SA being about 700/2 against us in 2012 and that was with our best bowlers playing.

Anyone else think Rabada could be called for a no-ball every time?

Saffers won't be no 1 after this series. It will be India who we humiliated last summer followed by Oz who we beat this summer.

Well, there's the century before lunch. Half an hour to score the 17 runs to eclipse Leslie.

Fantastic from Stokes but a nadir of sorts for SA cricket. The Windies haven't looked even this bad this summer. They need to develop some more decent bowlers!

The windies are getting steam rolled by a pub team.

This very poor South African attack is now a thoroughly demoralised one too.

"Absolute butchery" is Atherton's description just now.

Have finally got up after dozing with TMS on the radio and sky on iPad. Had the advantage of knowing when you needed to have your eyes open!
