Broad. Can't see any of the batsmen being dropped anytime soon, and our bowlers are always breaking down.

Will continue to go with Broad although Bopara might be in with a shout if he tours this winter and one of the middle-order batsmen gets injured.

Assuming the same XI play for the rest of the India series, I'd say you're looking at a spinner getting capped in Sri Lanka. Rashid must be favourite, followed by Keedy or Swann.

Pity Banger is unlikely to return to the England side.

Well there is actually an Australian player called Lloyd Mash who was opening the batting for the Victorian team recently. Maybe they could form an opening partnership of Banger & Mash.

There was a bloke called Lavender who played Aussie state cricket a few years ago. Pity he never played for WA alongside the great DK Lillee.

Yes Mark Lavender was a batsmen that played for WA back in the 1990's. Its also a pity he didn't ever play with the Flower brothers from Zimbabwe at the Rose Bowl.

Unfortunately though Lavenders career was nipped in the bud before it really blossomed.

Did you really mean to highlight Strauss? He isn't in the squad!

How long will it be before we have player number 650?

Strauss has a contract.

Caps
1999 - 3
2000 - 3
2001 - 6
2002 - 3
2003 - 10
2004 - 3
2005 - 3
2006 - 6
2007 - 3

Say about 3 a year it should take 4 years.
I wonder how many of those with caps will return.

2003 was really a shocking year for debuts but then there were injuries to Caddick and Hoggard that summer. Only Anderson and Collingwood are still playing 4 years on which shows how desperate we were that summer!

Given Fletcher's famous ability to spot talent there are an awful lot of test rejects in that list.
