Wins all round.
Darren Maddy reckons we'll get Broad which will leave me with a face covered in omelette.

I like to see that this lad has ambitions but I think he needs to make sure that his bowling is good enough to get him in the team before he worries about being a long term replacement for Giles at number 8.

Maddy from Leics. Broad from Leics. Is this the pattern? Player moves counties, takes over as captain at new county, encourages movement of other players from old county to join him? I'm not overjoyed at that scenario.

I heard Boycott muttering about the Broad move, not wanting to name the county in question but saying something about going where the money was.

Maybe I just filled in the blanks by myself, but I thought he actually named Warks?

Didn't he sort of mutter it so that his companion didn't quite catch it? Or maybe I just didn't hear it properly. It sounded as if he didn't want to name names.

Boycott did say Warks.

Broad 33 matches 112 wickets at 28.40 econ 3.63 s/r 46.90 6 5fers

England must think Broad is ready as he was 12th man for the Test team. He hasn't played that much f/c cricket but neither had some of these

Cork - 92 first class games - (24 years of age)
Tremlett - 68 - (25)
Gough - 67 - (23)
Harmison - 64 -(23)
Jones - 36 -(23)
Mahmood - 34 - (25)
Hoggard - 31 - (23)
Sidebottom - 31- (23) - part two 104 -(29)
Plunkett - 31 - (20)
Caddick - 29 (24)
Tudor - 25 - (21)
Anderson - 17 - (20)

Think Panesar was around the 50 mark.

Wow, that's not many at all. He'd played county cricket for a few seasons though, but only from about July onwards because of his degree.

Graeme Swann tended to play ahead of him for a lot of the time. Fair enough, because he had his own aspirations to play for England.

"The future of Stuart Broad could be decided within the week. The Leicestershire and England fast bowler is believed to have narrowed his options down to Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire and has intimated he is close to announcing his decision.
Warwickshire are quietly optimistic that he will choose Edgbaston. Broad inspected the facilities at the ground recently and is mindful of the positive impact a similar move had on his former team-mate, Darren Maddy."

In the Telegraph Fantasy Cricket report today, the reporter picks up on Broad's performance with bat and ball. "Who knew he could bat?" he asks. Where has this guy been? Is there anyone in the country who doesn't know he can bat, given that all the speculation about his test debut has included the possibility that he could make a good #8 batsman?

I'm glad he isn't considering Lancs as we really don't need anymore fast bowlers especially not one who might not play too many games for us.

I don't think Lancs were interested anyway. Watkinson said it was amazing how often Lancs was linked with players looking to move counties when there had been no negotiations of any sort.

Are you pleased Kim that he has gone to Notts then?

No. Im relieved my info was right. Heard six weeks ago that he was going to Notts. I wouldnt expect any good player to join Warwicks at the moment unless totally money motivated. Good move for Broad. And Notts have completed a hat trick because they also beat us for Sidebottom and Swann. They're a good club.
