I read that Plunkett had a beautiful action before they changed it.

What do you mean Prior challenging Ali. I think he is set as an opener in Tests and in ODIs they will give him some time.

I think Maggie was referring to Cook's golf challenge, which Essex Cookie linked further up the thread.

There's no need to be so rude! We need all sorts to make up a team, they can't all be like dear Kevin Pietersen.

I would, but MF would probably beat me up with a cyber stick.

Ian Ronald Bell or myself? The former, I think...

I was hoping that we'd keep this on topic about Cooky and cricket, but as always it's drifted off!

I see Cooky's available to play for Essex against Lancs on July 15th, that should be interesting... maybe a thread about Cooky wasn't such a good idea - there isn't much to talk about!

It certainly wasn't me who changed the subject, and what I said to you was meant to be being nice.

There was a letter in All Out Cricket this month saying they should have made Cook captain of the ODI side. The ed's comment, quite rightly, was that the lad should be given a chance to make his way in the team first.

With that at the end of that sentence, I wasn't too sure whether you were or not...and now the has confused me some more. So basically I'm completely lost. Shall we start again (although I'll never agree that Bell > Cook!)?

I think basically that a post with any kind of smiley in it indicates it shouldn't be taken too seriously (except a rant/angry one of course). I'm sorry if you thought I was being unkind, of course I wasn't.

I think you may be over reacting EC - I'm one of Ali's biggest fans! I would direct you to my gushing tribute to his maiden test ton but it's now in the hands of the evil Nashtax.

Maybe I am, sorry. It sounded a little sarky to me, that is all.

Talking Cook in the ODI team

Cook is such a breath of fresh air! I am so glad the selectors woke up and selected him in the ODI side. I know he didnt do much in the 3 matches against the windies but he'll come good - give him a few more chances. Hes too good a player not to.

Great forum by the way.. Only became a member yesterday and already loving it.

Thumbs up Cook's golf & soccer challenge

Is there anything this boy cant do?? Good at cricket, soccer, golf, juggling?? He made Matt Prior look silly - mind you i dont think i would have done any better at either of the challenges than Matt Prior.

Cant wait to see what other tricks he has up his sleeves. Maybe boxing?

Thanks ACFan, hope you have fun here. EC will be pleased that there's another Cookie fan on board
