He probably doesn't cycle to work everyday.

Probably not but then I doubt he drinks as much as I do.

Excellent.

A doctor is advising me to drink alcohol to stay delay the onset of middle age. For once the medicine tastes nice.

Ah no, that isn't quite what I meant. Perhaps rather oddly, I was regarding the cycling as a good thing health wise and the booze as a bad one. Still, go ahead if you like.

Saqlain Mushtaq [Player Page] - RHB; OB
Born: 1976-12-29 (present age: 31y 18d)

Tests: Pakistan 1995/96 - 2003/04 (18y 253d - 27y 94d)
I know that's what it says in Cricinfo. There have been previous cases (according to Boycott) where the information given about players' ages is not exactly truthful.

Basil D'Oliveira famously concealed his true age.

If he'd hidden his race too it would have saved an awful lot of controversy.

As far as popular prejudice is concerned, concealing your age would give your race away immediately!

Saqlain no where near his age. This sort of stuff happens in the subcontinent, not as much nowadays, but they like to either increase someones age in society when they are young, and then reduce their age when they get old. Waqar and Afridi are good examples of tampering about with their age.

I know what you mean but I don't really think it's a racial thing as much as a nationality thing though.

Who knows? Isn't that the point? Perhaps we could look at a few photos taken at different times of his career, have a bit of a discussion and decide for ourselves? It would be about as credible as what magistrates do at a determination of age hearing.

I actually am 31. And going by Saqlain, I reckon I've got another 7 or 8 years of it!

I too am an entirely genuine 31 and yeah, I'd be pretty disappointed if I end up looking anything like as old as Saqlain any time in the next decade. Of course, I do moisturise regularly.
