Does it sound much like the fielding coach deserves to keep his job?

We have a new fielding coach now. Halsall has gone and is replaced by Chris Taylor who used to play for Gloucs.

Collingwood earns himself an enemy for life

Let's hope he doesn't plan to visit Lancashire again.

I'm amazed that you didn't suggest that someone outside of Lancashire might have been shaking with rage!

Collingwood's examples are somewhat bizarre. Not sure how Jordan and Stokes at this stage of their careers get into anyone's fielding dream team. Surely his failure to mention a single other current England player can't be due to his having an agenda, can it?

I think the one thing we can agree on is that it would be absurd to have an agenda influencing one's thoughts on the matter.

I realise that you might actually live in Cheshire rather than Lancashire, but the person I was alluding to actually shaking with rage in terms of the underestimation of a certain Lancs player's fielding would of course be me!

Read the article. What's Lancashire got to do with it?

Absence of representation from that county.

Having played with said, un-named player for many years, perhaps Collingwood thinks him somewhat over-rated as a fielder? Good for a quick bowler, maybe, but already another, young quick (aka Jordan) has entered the England side and outshone him in the field.

I hope you realise that I wasn't being particularly serious in my support about the 'legendary' fielding of Anderson. It is a nod at a period earlier in his career when his fielding seemed to be a whole lot more lively than his bowling.....

I wasn't really referring to your post, just the discussion in general!

I didn't realise we were naming said un-named Lancashire player, though?

In terms of drops per match, I wonder who comes second, after Panesar.
