He is busy. I see he flew back to Oz in time to have a good view of Luke wright win his team the match.

Taylor is probably averaging more than Kp in saffer land isn't he?

KP outshone by Wright in front of 81,000. Wonder if the latter might get an berth for England at the World T20.

Nope. Just because he can smash big bash dobbers about does not mean he is good enough for international cricket. Failed too many times - which was a shame as I thought he had it

But those failures were before he'd become a regular with the Melbourne Stars. I would quite like to see Wright get another chance with England, although I doubt it will happen.

No wrongs to correct in the case. As Sir Virgs says, Wright was not consistent enough before.

An interview by Hussain with Morgan

Hussain: I have to ask you the question. When you sit there and see KP smashing it around the world, do you think 'Crikey, we should pick him'? Or do you think, 'That door is shut'?

Morgan: That door is completely shut. Kevin will not be picked.

Hussain: That's from you?

Morgan: That's from me.

Interesting he's saying it's HIS call! Very interesting! Hmmmmm...!

KP must have spoken to Morgan and been told that he would have always him in his team.

What a daft question - who (whom?) else did Hussain think he was interviewing?

I agree this thread should now be moved to the domestic forum.

NO.

We've had the discussion re Bell. England players past and present stay on the England board. There's been a suggestion for a historical board to talk about past players but I'd imagine that refers to players who aren't playing at all any more or, indeed, are no longer with us.

Just noticed someone else asking for the thread to be moved. No. There are no individual player threads on the domestic board.

It's slightly interesting to try to interpret Morgan's answers. Obvious to anyone paying even the slightest attention is that Hussain is trying to get Morgan to confirm that he's offering his view, rather than just reflecting the widely known selectorial hostility to Pietersen. The odd thing though is that, as a non selector Morgan can't really be answering that Pietersen definitely won't be picked based on his own view, so it's still not clear what he's trying to say.

The reason for that as I can see is that Flintoff had retired(fully) for 5 years and then came back in mid-2014 purely to play domestic t20. Pietersen hasn't retired fully and tends to get discussed an awful lot more. Somehow I can't see the fall off for discussing him happening just yet. He would have been a viable pick for this world t20 but it obviously isn't going to happen.

If you don't wish to talk about him I guess the thread would die more of a death that way.

Pietersen has been out of the England set up for over two years. He only get discussed because every time he sneezes, or someone mentions him in an interview, it gets a mention. Pietersen is playing purely domestic cricket, and will do for the rest of his career.

That's the national press for you, for them he is click bait and this is replicated in many other fora. All mentions of him tend to relate to his England career anyway. As slogger says people seems to want to talk about him a whole lot.
