Similarly in 2006, England had chances to force home advantages against the Aussies at Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne only for Australia to brutally snatch back control. Melbourne apart, last year's effort was a slow subsidence into predictable defeat.

Looks like June must be India's rainy season as they've had to go off a couple of times due to the weather.

It is the start of the monsoon indeed although Bangalore tends to get the rain a bit later than say Mumbai.

Shannon Gabriel recorded the 6th best figures by a West Indian bowler in a test innings, and the third best in a test match. Only Holding at the Oval in 1976 and Walsh against the Kiwis in 1995 have better match figures. They are the best match figures by any bowler in the West Indies.

Eoin Morgan now the number 1 all-time England ODI batsmen (runs scored), and has just scored the fast ever ODI 50 by an English batsmen (21 balls).

I am sure Michelle will join me in congratulating him.

Or indeed anyone’s ODI team. Again.

Bell got them in ten fewer innings. Bring back Ian Ronald!

481/6 is crazy. I though 438 would take some beating. How long until 500 is scored?

It should be England's permanent home ground.

England's biggest win and Australia's heaviest defeat in terms of runs.

Just what I’d have said if I’d seen this conversation earlier.

Bell held that record for a long time.

Of course there’s the question of how many innings Morgan would have got out trying to up the rate after the Sherminator poked around plYing for his runs tally up the order..

Out of interest, how many balls did it take them both?
