This home counties boy still enjoys listening to him, almost as much as he enjoyed watching him bat.

This winter so far it's been more entertaining to hear Boycott bashing the batsmen than it has to hear the commentary of their attempts to bash the ball.

Alison Mitchell is the best ball by ball caller on Radio this series. Only Jim Maxwell rivals her really. I've given up on the channel nein commentary. I just put on mute and deal with the delay. It's actually nice, as I can do other things around the house, then if something dramatic happens i've got a good 10 seconds to get to the tv.

To show that England's spin bowling policy is wrong.

I've quite enjoyed listening to the bits of coverage when Mitchell has been on. Hope it might encourage broadcasters like Sky to break up the old boys club by showing that you needn't be an ex-cricketer nor "one of the lads" to do the job.

Someone send the same memo to Channel Swine. How low can the standards be when it's a relief when Michael Vaughan comes into call.

One Aussie who has impressed me recently, mainly on the BB, is Gilchrist. Always came across as an honest and fair bloke when playing, does the same on commentary.

Commentary dream team on BT today - Tubby Taylor trying to convince everyone that Australia are in charge, KP pleading for Steve Smith to bowl. It’s bloody awful.

Why BT too tight to have their own commentary team for the ODIs? Is this why we pay the subs?

I woke up this morning to Tubs and Healey and I couldn't take more than 2 minutes of their bullsh!t so I put TMS on. I wasn't too keen on James Taylor initially but I have quite enjoyed listening to him today. Jimmy Anderson is much, much better than I expected too.

I spent the morning with Channel 9 yesterday, Healey is one of the better ones and Slater probably the best.

Nicholas clearly now sees himself as Australia - good, you can have him.
Pietersen is horrific.
Tubbs just too biased.
Clarke speaks sense but his accent is so annoying.

I had to go on mute.

TMS is comfortably the best. Everything else is little more than a circus act.

Also worth pointing out that I much prefer the TMS ODI Squad to the Test one (apart from the gentle musings of Victor which are always a delight). No Swann or Boycott, whilst the inceasingly out of touch Aggers needs moving on (I know there are health issues with his wife but his understanding of the domestic game has been lacking for a long time).

Dagnall is seemingly now the natural replacement for Agnew.

Agree. I love vic marks, very easy to listen to. Dont mind swann or aggers but cant stand boycott. The odi team have been very good, dagnall and norcross excellent.

Victor and tuffers are brilliant. They know the game so well.

Agree re aggers - he is often pontificating on the state of county cricket but I bet he could not name more than 9 of each county first team. In fact, I wonder how many captains he could name. Similar to boycott.
