You're spot on. 8-15 at Trent Bridge was nothing. Or try carrying the entire attack when we were last in Oz while Jimmy got carted around. Jeez, was Laxman rubbish too because he wasn't Tendulkar? Or maybe you didn't rate Dravid either? Maybe Jimmy benefited from Broad at the other end too?

I think you were just a little bit out in your belief. Hey, he's pretty much finished now anyway so each Test he fails in now proves your point, so you'll claim.

A question many will have been asking themselves.

Surely, it can't still be the same reason he got such an extended run in test cricket at the start of his career.

I am not claiming the statement on his recent form, but have always felt he is just a mediocre average bowler. Likes of Laxman, Dravid or Sachin have their own strength and one would always carry the burden when the others are not so good.

All these three have pretty solid overseas performance, and some really majuscule innings in their belt. Was surprised recently to hear Jimmy got his first 5 wicket haul in Australia.

He is just like Harbajan singh, who performed well under the shadow of Kumble, not taking the credit of broad so far but he has been in the team more than his due period.
