Come on craig. Oz back in a good position to ensure England's third innings capitulation.

Ffs. Now bairstow out.

Shambles since malan threw it away.
As predicted, England collapse from a good position. This is normal surely?

Well bugger me.

Second time we have scored 400 batting first in oz since 1988. Should have been 500 but we would have taken this from 130 for 4. Not from 360 for 4.

Now new ball attack...don't just bowl short with the new ball.

Scraped to 400+ and all out. At least we got to 400.

Bit harsh to have a go at Malan. First centurion of the series and made 140.

Also, his and Bairstow’s fifth wicket stand of 237 was the highest for Eng v Aus ever. Think this means highest stand for any wicket.

If England don't get a few with the new ball, I can see Warner being 150 by stumps.

Well Overton making the breakthroughs, I've got to say I don't think he should have been bowling this over after seemingly pulling his left pec in his previous over, shows what I know!

So will it be Smith or Smarsh and the tail to save Australia again? Or have the bookies written a different script.

Let's hope that craig is not injured because he has looked more dangerous than anyone in the match. Reached 85 mph too.

This is a funny little stat.

15 - This is the 15th time England have scored 400+ winning the toss and batting first away from home since 1980; of those they have won just one (Johannesburg 2004/05). Unusual. #Ashes*

Well he's looking ok now, one of his bounces was 87.9 I think I saw he can certainly put in the odd effort ball when he wants to.

That's a pretty stunning rather than unusual especially over such a long period.

See last ball before tea where he smashed smith on the gloves.

Well done the two centurions.

Pity we couldn’t have mustered any more after that - the pressure would have ratcheted up a notch.

Smith has also smashed him for 20 runs off 18 deliveries.

“Circle-jerking” was maybe a bit much, but the predictable reactions (without having read Ali’s post carefully), were quite amusing.

Yes. Because he is pitching it up and the first one skewed off the edge.

Not sure why we aren't starting the session with our best bowlers, you'd think we'd do everything to try and get Smith, rather than Khawaja with off spin.

Roots field placings and captaincy ingeneral is poor. They think Ali = Khawaja's wicket, when Anderson or Broad would probably skittle him while he's still new to the crease.
