Been away - have I missed much?

The Ashes seemed nicely poised after Lord's.

You have missed the resurrection of Peter Moores' reputation.

WTF?

Who on earth was responsible for that?

1. Giles Clarke treating England fans with his usual contempt
2. Scyld Berry being Scyld Berry (although I don't think even he's nuts enough to come up with that)
3. Ed Smith trying to be too clever
4. Mike Selvey/Simon Hughes and the rest of the embedded ECB press corps reporting the ECB line verbatim with no critical filter applied
5. The self preservation society of Whitaker/Moores/Downton/Fraser/Gatting etc denying that there was ever a problem in the first place?

Apart from captain cook leading an England side who lost 21 wickets in the process of beating Australia twice in under five days cricket, nope. Piers Morgan is going to be Pope and the players chanted our hero captain's name. Fantastic. Welcome back.

People have even been saying complimentary things about Downton for having the vision to hold onto Cook last summer.

What people?

Are you just talking about Sir Virgs or someone reputedly credible?

Who predicted 3-1 England and that we would retire Harris, Rogers, haddin, Watson and Clarke before the end of the series? jump aboard my train, it is fun.
