There are 34 pen pictures on the door of the England dressing room at the SCG to identify all those allowed in. That’s three for every member of the match XI. They include a team liaison officer, a soft-tissue masseur and various analysts, but no specialist pace bowling or spin bowling coach for an Ashes Test.

No nightwatchman coach ?

Was last night a sacking offence for the head coach ?

Surely the Captain should carry the buck (if anyone does)?

Tbf it was probably the last thing on Root's mind when he was walking off the field.

So Bayliss is only here for the ODI World Cup and then is off.

An admission that the ECB couldnt give a toss about test cricket in the meantime.

Only themselves to blame if test grounds are empty.

I thought they said Bayliss would be here for the next home Ashes series.

They did. He'll be seeing out his contract, but not renewing (he said):

Seems as if Bayliss is ready to hand over the T20 coaching now to Farbrace. Wonder what Strauss will do. Why not the Tests as well?

“When I was a number two, years ago, a bloke said to me the role of the number two is to make the number one look good. I think he’s done a good job in that respect.”

Just a coincidence that Farbrace was not on the T20 leg of the tour?

England are now a 50 over team that play the other formats on their days off.

All about hosting the WC in 2019.

Strauss is a dolt.
