Game over - It's a half strength team and not helped by the regulars like Roy and Buttler being woefully out of form.

Wood missed an easy run out chance on Williamson before he had scored.

Strange that Jordan came in ahead of Plunkett and Rashid.

it is remarkable the impact of removing your most economical bowler and one of the cleanest hitters from the side. We need to make sure we get close and hope oz beat NZ

Just seen a bit on the news, wow that stadium was empty. England's reserves are failing their audition, bar a spirited effort from Malan.

Roy has never been in form for England in T20 cricket. His continued selection baffles me.

Yep, with this squad they should've opened with Willey. Surely the warm up game could've told them that.

Please, open with Wiley, if just to step the clamouring for it to happen.

He would if he ever got going, also enable Hales to play his natural game.

Not guaranteed just yet, although this is the kind of farce you can get playing cricket at a rugby ground.

And it turns out the Aussies are cruising in. Special mention for Ben Wheeler who bowled 3.1 overs for 64 runs before being removed form the attack for bowling two beamers (I'm wondering if the second was deliberate to get himself removed from the firing line). His final legitimate ball effectively went for 11 runs (NB 6 plus another 4 off the free hit).
