Top trolling by cricinfo with what I think is an homage to a (Benaud?) dig at Glenn McGrath

Two long drawn out fifties by Markram and Van Der Dussen stop SA falling to pieces, but they don’t convert SA are effectively 29-4.

Sibley’s long drawn out knock yesterday certainly didn’t qualify but Stokes effort today certainly does, He really had it in his own hands to convert. A bit of a waste.

Ollie Pope made 34. Relevance to Bell? Zero.

He did look a bit like Bell in his frenetic approach to the spinners, but perhaps that's for another thread.

Virat Kohli made an appearance along with Shubman Gill, who is soon becoming a regular here.

I think Root got out for 40 to maintain the good work he’s done on his conversion rate

5 unconverted 50s across the two innings by India tells its own story although really they needed to convert one of their first innings efforts to have got the 400+ score that might have saved them in the game.

Virat Kohli with another entry on to this thread. I had forgotten that he hadn't much played test cricket in the last couple of years so it isn't as dramatic as that but it would be remiss of me not to mention it nonetheless.
I think I had him more in mind as he got loads of PLFs in the 2019 world cup but his slump in test cricket isn't quite as much as you might have thought.

Both main protagonists are in there! In any case, the cumulative totals include all scores above 50, including converted efforts and not just PLFs.

No entry yet for Zac Crawley. A fifty and pretty enough.

It was certainly that and he really did need to kick on to draw the fire. It didn't happen and England slumped completely.
