I had an Instagram post liked by Julia Bradbury the other day. I haven't told my day, he'd probably want me to try and fix him up a date with her.

If it was indeed the real Julia. Because I've since learned that Nat Sciver's FB account was hacked/cloned. Good job I investigated before accepting 'her' request.

We have a Launch Party for our girls teams on May 15th where all new kit will be handed out. The person presenting it will be Charlotte Edwards - hopefully the real one!!

Nothing good can ever come out of women playing cricket or any sports for that matter.

Women managed to provide me with my first winning Lord's Final. Men were incapable of doing that for more than 35 years. So, plenty of good from women playing sports.

It means my neice is more likely to get a job in her chosen profession of Sports Analyst - currently studying for her Masters and working with Surrey Netball Team - which means she isnt tapping her uncle for a bit of extra spending money every five minutes.

Can you name any good female sports analysts off the top of your head?
Do we really need females in that field?
Surely she can clean your kitchen and house for spending money?

I have very strong suspicions that boxing roo was picked on through primary school by the girl he had his eye on. Then when he got to secondary school he saw all of the other boys getting the girls and when he got clean bowled by a girl from the year below he developed a weird hatred

There are quite a few sports I don't really like watching women play because the standard is not great but for the vast majority it is great (sadly for me cricket is one I don't really enjoy but that does not mean I am not happy when we win, nor football or rugby). I love watching the netball at commies and the most individual sports such as athletics and golf (where some have a game from inside 150 yards as good as the men).

Similar here. I take the attitude that if I enjoy watching it, I'll do so. If I don't enjoy it, I'll leave it alone and let others take pleasure in it.

As cricket fans we should appreciate more than most that niche pursuits all have their valid place.

To be honest - I didnt even know what she did till my brother tried to explain, so no to that one.

Personally I would have females in every field.... it gives you something to look at whilst you extricate your foot from your mouth.

Nah,dont need her to - we have an Aussie backpacker on minimum wage to do that.

I suspect Roo is one of what are now referred to as "involuntary celebates" or incels.

Well, two of us live in Kent, I believe, but if you were hoping some of our heart rates were quickened by your last post, you'll be disappointed.

I very much enjoyed watching our U13 Girls destroy the U12 Boys in a 'friendly' on Monday evening (148-3 v 103 all out). Will be interesting to see how they go in the rest of the Boy's League this season.

I also saw a bit of Berks v Wales on Sunday in Maidenhead (my daughter playing on nextdoor pitch). Knight got a very untroubled ton whilst I was blown away by the pace of Lauren Bell - she's in the England Training Squads and will undoubtedly soon move up to International status. Easily the quickest bowler I've seen in the women's game.

It’s time to support cricket at all levels, for the sake of the game most of us on here have played, watched and enjoyed over many years, but which appears vulnerable to a myriad of forces, competing interests and muddled thinking about how to further develop the game.

Living in Canada, the profile of the sport is limited compared to the other North American pro sports, but for a while I did get out to a few matches of the Canadian men’s team. I will check around a bit to see whether and to what extent women are picking up the game and share the results.
Edit: First pass results indicate the sport is developing. An example: http://cricketcouncilofontario.ca/cr...17-canada-cup/

New Zealand scored 490 against Ireland today in a one day match.

Poor old 17yo Cara Murray conceded 119 off her ten overs.
