I suppose Morgan is only a one-day specialist because they dropped him from the test team. Sure he went through a bad patch, but I thought he showed some promise, and he's probably a better batsman now than he was when he was dropped.

Woakes as you say would be a slight worry on the bowling front, but he has the benefit of experience, and there are three other seamers.

I reckon that team might beat South Africa.
Iím not suggesting anyone because the squads concerned are limited overs squads and test cricket isnít on the agenda, even if youíd like it to be.

England successfully pioneered the concept of a ‘bio-secure environment’ this summer, which is fitting really, as we invented the game ! If only some governments were as good at following the science. With this week’s promising vaccine news, we can possibly hope that next summer will see an end to fake crowd noises, empty stands and a few of the restrictions. I look forward to the South Africa series, and I hope everyone gets a game this time.

It was more like an ODI with 40 overs.

I'd have him in the T20 side.

There's only space for Root or Malan in the T20 side, one of whom happens to be the Number 1 rated T20 batsman in the world.

Seemed like not an easy pitch yesterday with Curran's slower deliveries apparently calling all sorts of problems. Only Root properly came to terms with it. Only some late order hitting from Woakes made it respectable for Team Morgan.

Looking at the bowlers - Wood, Tom Curran and Gregory all in the wickets - Can they play both Wood and Archer in the WC T20 side ? That’s a lot of pace.

Next game is tomorrow vs a Saffer select.

Dawid Malan dismisses ICC No.1 status: "It doesn't guarantee you a spot in the team".

Also perceived to be slow of the mark.

'Morgan even had a subtle dig at centurion Malan for his failure to attempt a bye from the final delivery of the innings, suggesting he was worried about protecting his average'.

T20 warm up today, Team Morgan batting first and interestingly, Bairstow didn't open for them (Banton and Livingstone).

Banton out for 17 and Stokes 3 (from 8 balls).
