Not sure what we're doing at the end here, bowling round the wicket, full and wide against Linde and we have 4 men out on the boundary on the leg side. FFS just pack the off side if you're going to do that.

Playing only one spinner is almost always a mistake, regardless of the fact that Moeen is almost certainly a better batsman than whoever he would be replacing.

As much as I love Mo considering the respective form of our bowlers with the bat in the IPL I'm really not sure that's the case.

In the run up to the 50 over World Cup, they tended to rest him from t20s and rightly so. Tough to regularly play 3 formats.

Just looking at him it seems a bit deeper than just his form, you can sometimes tell when a batsman is struggling mentally. They were saying he struggled in the lockdown bubble and he opted out of the IPL.

Paarl looks a lovely place to play cricket.

He’s been a good death bowler in the past. Captain wants to keep faith, Curran having had slightly better day than on Friday (wicket and a catch).

PS. Do you mean “defiantly” or “definitely”? Both would apply.

They talked about him coming back in before start of play but I’d been under the impression he’d been unwell.

Probably Morgan having a look at how he would do under the pressure. This is all about building for the World Cup, I'd say currently this is the first choice team with Tom Curran the most likely to miss out if they want another spinner in the team. Better to have a look at how Currant handles stuff like bowling the last over now, also looking at how he responds to having a bad game the other day.
