TBF that is one of the strongest sides i've seen put out for an opposition in a tour match for quite some time, and you'd prefer that over the usual assortment of junior grade players and park cricketers XI they sometimes dish up. Other than a front line spinner that's a pretty fair reflection of what India will be facing during the test series proper and they have another game to further adjust.

True, and I am happy to see a strong opposition to play against, but the way our players have done don't fill me with much hope.

That looked nasty, but pleased to see he's not had to go to hospital. Must be a serious doubt though for his place in the First Test.

I see Green even took a couple of wickets too.

So, shaky opening batsmen, middle order which will need to come in early and bat long and bowlers who seem raring to go. I guess this test series might come down to whichever teams holds on to most of the catches on offer.

I know he's had mental health problems for a while, but didn't he suffer concussion before as well?

Football (The Australia kind) as well as a junior. Always going to be a concern for him.

Once you have one concussion, aren't you always more at risk? May play on his mind when facing short pitched bowling. Does make you think it will be ruthlessly, and potentially dangerously, exploited by good international attacks.

Yes I think so, it would be such a massive shame if his career gets cut short because of it. Even in the shorter forms there will still be bouncers, he'd probably face the quickest bowlers more regularly in T20 than Tests.

Second A match with India today with a day/nighter. Almost all the quicks other than Steketee come out of the squad, with Ben McDermott replacing Puvovski, who may still be considered for Adelaide (unlikely.) Should get a look at young Will Sutherland and Mitch Swepson. I reckon if Burns doesn't get a score they won't pick him, despite the lack of alternative options. They may go Wade/Harris as a one test stop gap option, which would make it more convenient to select Green at six.

That is a dismal effort from India against a pretty pop-gun bowling attack. Well, at least they'll get to bowl when the conditions are at their most suitable tonight. Would have liked to have seen Kohli, and even Smith turn out who both have not played any redball Cricket since.... I have no idea.
