Mel Farrell asked on twitter earlier if anyone else was having trouble with Cricinfo. A lot were. It seems to have coincided with an upgrade to the app - seemed many were having trouble with that, but it's working fine for me. The website is not. |

Very good bowling by India. We have got rid of both the openers without really letting the Aussies score very quickly. Can we now get rid of Smith Ver 1.0 and Ver 2.0? A lot will hinge on how quickly we can get rid of them. Otherwise, our score will look very inadequate.
And now Bumrah drops a sitter. I feel this is going to cost us very heavily. ![]()

Smith goes cheaply, against India, getting out to Ashwin, in Australia. That's probably rarest of rare occurrences. This is nice battle now, and India is very much in the hunt thus far. Of course, we could have done with catching one of the many chances Labuschagne offered.

Commentator says Green would be expected to get in at some time tonight. Five minutes later he's at the crease.

Optimism rising for the Ashes - Oz look a right rabble.

Australia in big trouble at 5/92 with the night session to come, they'd be in even more trouble if Labuschagne hadn't been dropped a few times.
Their batting looks very fragile if Smith fails. |

Just seen the highlights of the last session, India's fielding was awful. Smith dropped twice in his painful innings (one a sitter by Shaw). Bumrah's drop of Labuschagne also shocking. But they're in control, wrap this up for under 150 and then bat the Aussies out of it.

Another woeful piece of fielding as Paine is dropped, but India taking control anyway.

Maybe Paine opening wasn't the worst idea after all. Looks a lot more accomplished than Burns or Wade.

Indians have bowled well and fielded decently but the catching has been terrible. If only we had taken the easy ones, we could have been 1 down for about 20-30 by now.

That knock by Paine may be his finest and has kept Australia in the game, if only just. Very impressed by India with the ball, did not expect Yadav & Ashwin to be factors but they put other touring sides to shame with the way they bowled with the pink ball. Australia will need to scythe through India here to give themselves a chance, as I can't see our vulnerable top order putting together a significant score unless one of Smith or Marnus go big.
