Archer bowls a mean leggie.
Question to be asked is what is the pitch going to be like for the first test ?

In India, almost always, it would be a flat slow deck with decent bounce which would get progressively slower, with some turn and variable bounce by the third day. The spinners would need to bowl faster, the pacers need to bowl quicker through the air since they might not get much off the pitch. There might be some conventional swing early on and definite reverse swing later on. I don't see the pitch for the entire series being any different.

It's looking more likely it will be on Channel 4 unless they get outbid by Sky or BT by Monday apparently.

I'll naturally be listening on TMS. If there is a way of getting to watch it without having to pay vast sums of money, I would like to know.

Someone on another message board said they got the same email a few days ago. Either Sky had this sewn up already and not even the cricket journalists knew ( which would be very surprising), or they are confident of winning the rights, or they have had the email ready to go if they won the rights and someone has accidentally pressed the send button.

If Channel 4 do win the rights, they are not going to have much time to promote it.

It sounds like Channel 4 have won. Only a last minute change of mind from Sky or BT to put in a higher bid tomorrow morning will alter it.

It is not currently showing on the Sky Schedules (Pak v SA is). I don't really care who gets it just so long as someone does, the commentary teams have already been picked (unless Sky ditch those and go with their own again).

Not sure who all are going to be from India, but almost all of them have been dire.

The TV rights announcement may not be till tomorrow now. C4 still look to be the favourite despite their bid falling way short of the £20m that Star were hoping for.

I'd have thought Sky would do it from a studio again. Nasser seemed to be a bit grumpy doing it though. The others would probably just take the Indian feed.
