I don't think it will be easy to score quickly on this pitch, unless it is against the new ball. Despite that guy Swamy's tweet, I don't think this ball would do much after the first 30 overs or so.

Flat pitch, Kohli captaining, poor selection with both Sundar and Nadeem......the list can go on. Add to it the fact that the English have been more prudent and played a more patient game compared to their Aussie counterparts, and there you have the answer.

This Pitch is like the pitch for the final test in Sri Lanka ie ridiculously flat on the first day. If we were bowling some on here would be saying proof that Bess and leach are not good enough....

Pitch is flat - but England have been superb. The Indian bowling so far - meh.

For an hour after lunch they were excellent. With nothing in it for the bowlers it is so hard. Let’s hope we bat all day tomorrow and the pitch falls apart.

The pitch is definitely going to fall apart from 3rd day onwards. The problem will be whether it would have enough pace in it to cause trouble. It would only get slower, which would mean that batsmen would have that much more time to adjust.

As I said earlier, getting in is going to be difficult but, if you can do that, staying in will be a lot easier.

Certainly Sundar and Shabaz have been mediocre. Not enough balls in good areas. Also, India's ground fielding has been generous, although it is bloody hot in Chennai. I was at the 2008 game, Sehwag and all that.

There were lots of stories about how Shastri and Kohli started planning for the Aussie tour quite early. I wonder if they forgot about this English tour afterwards. We definitely have reverted back to template.
