Not that it would have been that many games for Boycott, but international tours generally don't include first class games outside of tests anymore either.

292/1 since Lawrence was out. Will be more secure when we have another 150.

Bookies have the draw favourites but scoreboard pressure could be a factor when India bat.

I thought we were doing well until that caption of the 2016 test was shown on screen.

Makes it look like scoring 800 would only be a decent total.

I find the obsession with scoring rates baffling - particularly when England are above 3 an over.

Wheels are coming off India a bit - this attack is serving up garbage regardless of the pitch.

Stokes really didn't need to do that.

Looks like Stokes was Sibley - out in the 80s.

What a gift.

A debate for another time. Need to look at team scoring rates anyway, not individuals.

Stokes holes out. Butcher describes his innings as a "cameo". I'm not sure 82 off 118 is a cameo.

Very good innings from Stokes but there was a big hundred there for the taking.

Pope not inspiring me to believe that he's a good player of spin.

Heís certainly not rotating the strike at the moment. I would have thought England would want to get somewhere near say 530 before declaring some time this evening. As commas pointed out, England got 477 and lost by an innings last tour in Chennai.

Starting to see occasional al turn and bounce. This could be brilliant. Come on England.

Has ashwin been written off as a test bowler with figures of 1-100ff 38 overs?

I donít think we will declare for anything less than 600. What is the point? If we get to 530-550 then we might as well slog it. If we declared on 550 and they scored 349 then we would bat again right? So we might as well score as many as we can quickly vs tired bowlers rather than a third innings.

Obviously we might get bowled out anyway but I donít see the point of declaring when chances are we are going to need to bat again anyway.

Oh I would rather see us get more than that quickly but I would want to get bowling for at least half an hour this evening.

On a couple of occasions Ashwin has stopped his run up while in the delivery stride. Perhaps practising for when he has Buttler backing up in a little while.

Not sure we should be worried about bowling tonight, go once go big and by big I mean 650+ if we can.
