And we should have mentioned Collingwood's 50 from 24 balls - the fastest 50ODI fifty by an England player.

Collingwood's tally is impressive considering he's one behind KP and one more than Beefy.
Proves there's more to him than a nurdler. |

He's a nurdler when he's not hitting 4s or 6s.

England's 110 ao was their fourth lowest score against New Zealand.
But on a more cheerful note, Ryan Sidebottom became the 11th bowler to take a test match hat-trick for England. And Alastair Cook joins six other England non-wicket keepers to take 6 catches in a test match. The others are: A. Shrewsbury F. Woolley MC Cowdrey AW Greig AJ Lamb GA Hick. It's funny, I could have sworn there was mention on commentary of someone having taken 7 catches. Anyway, well done Cook. Last edited by Michelle Fivefer : 9th March 2008 at 19:54. |

Just think how worse it would have been without those catches.

This series is becoming significant in a minor way for Alastair Cook. We've already mentioned his record-equalling six catches at Hamilton. In the first innings at Wellington he registered 2000 runs, the youngest England batsman to do so. And just by the way, in the second innings he hit his first 6 in test cricket, in fact in any form of international cricket, as he's never hit one in ODIs.

Or in Cook's case, that one counts, as it's his only one.

With his best figures to date of 7-47, Sidebottom passes 50 test wickets. He now has 52 wickets at 25.52.
Pietersen's century was his 11th in tests and he now has a century against every country he's faced in the long form of the game. |
