Let's hope no new rankings appear until after the next game.

So KP falls off his pedestal. But only by 1 place. For everyone else it looks like back to square one.

Presumably this was done on economy, rather than wickets?

The England Forum is a depressing place at the moment isn't it? I suppose we ought not to take the ODIs too seriously, for fear of suicide if nothing else.

Well you wouldn't expect any of them to move very much due to tests being played between other sides but the batsmen lower down the rankings are more prone to fluctuation by a place or two, I suppose.

How does Vaughan get a ranking for the first time! Glad to see JA going up. He should be aiming to get into the top 20 in the near future.

Vaughan was always languishing in the 40's until the beginning of this year when he vanished from the rankings for 6 months, probably because he had not played for a while. If a player starts playing again I would guess he gets his last ranking back.
I think players are kept in the rankings for 18 months without playing then disappear. Simon Jones has gone. |

You can see that the ratings only look at the scorecard (as previously discussed) otherwise Sidebottom would surely not have dropped 7 places. Harmison moving down a bit and Tremlett moving up - sign of things to come? The batsmen still roughly as before but Vaughan is rapidly regaining ground.
I know it's because of other moves but it seems odd for Giles to be moving up! |
