Not really. It shows more that the ODI spinning role for England has been a bit of a revolving door, of late.

Based on actual results achieved, Blackwell probably has been England's most successful (current) spinner. You can see how quickly his ranking is declining, however, with the -5 places he had just dropped.

If Monty continues to play in the World Cup, and takes some wickets, which we all would probably expect, he will soon reach a more realistic ranking to match his evident talent.

With only 10 teams regularly playing full ODIs having at best 7 specialist batsmen each, Vaughan's 67 seems about right.

Yes, he wouldn't want to be negotiating a performance-based contract based on his ODI ranking.

Anderson averages 30.00 this tournament. Hardly shocking in normal circumstances, but considering 3 of the 5 matches have been against associates, definitely below par for a top 30 bowler. There are no less than 16 bowlers in the World Cup at the moment who average less than 20.

So does that mean that the rankings were done after the Sri Lanka game? His figures were pretty good before then but not taking a wicket obviously put his average up. How we could do with a big performance against the Aussies on Sunday by him!

Yes after the SL game. Take one wicket and you can drop down a place, take 0 drop down two. Also not bowling at the death has dried up easy wickets for him.

I think we should have a ratings system in county cricket so at a glance we can see the regular performers with the bat and ball. The PCA have just started a MPV ratings.

that's actually quite interesting reading. Gareth Batty 4th????? Strange that there are no keepers in the top 30, they always seemed to be the most overlooked people
