His idolising of the Aussies is fairly embarassing. I can only imagine he is doing his best to hold onto his Channel 9 job in Australia where they employ the most one-eyed, biased commentary team in the history of sport.

Nicholas is a twit. I can only imagine his appeal in Australia is as some sort of novelty hapless, plummy voiced Englishman, like a poor man's Henry Blofeld.

At least Blowfeld had a good command of descriptive language (when he wasn't sozzled). Nicholas just shouts. His "you little ripper" is truly excruciating, like listening to a middle-aged father desperately trying to prove his street-cred to his children.

Frankly he can p*ss right off.

I had a dig at him about McGrath because he wrote in his article on the SAvsAust game the highlight of the day for him was when McGrath chundering to himself when he was was hit for a couple of fours in his over.
I don't like him but I don't mind his commentating he does praise all players when they perform.It is just that reading his Telegraph articles I can see how two faced he is.At least he published my post,assuming he has say on what is posted.

He does my head in too..I think he thinks he is gorgeous and we should al swoon at his feet when he just reminds me of a twit.

That's a bit mean really, he is probably very nice.

I love David Lloyd, I need more of him, and I could listen to Michael Holdings voice forever.

Definitely agree with you about Coney - shrewd, yet underrated and understated, just as he was as a player.

It was both an excellent interview and extremely poigniant. The feeling of a man being robbed of a well deserved rest and half retirement while still being involved in the game he loved was very strong.
