1) He already does five's highlights.

Thank God for that.

Since getting the job with Channel 9 - or perhaps since before that, Nicholas is increasingly enamoured with Australian cricket. The ecstatic noises he was making on Sunday as the Aussies regained domination over England were the sounds of a man in the grip of deep infatuation.

I haven't really followed this thread so I'm sorry if I'm saying something that has already been said. But Hussain is an awful commentator. Horrible. Both his voice and his analysis. A complete contrast to Atherton who I think is brilliant.

Unlikely to be Manthorp or Cozier, who I think were both on today (Cozier definitely). It was probably Kevin Howells, who might actually be worse than Arlo White

This has been annoying me since the beginning of the World Cup. Apparently there is a team called Island playing in the tournament. Today they are playing Australia. Too many commentators fail to realise that you pronounce Island and Ireland differently. Arlo White is one of the main culprits.

It's not entirely differently pronounced though, is it? In fact, I'd go as so far as to say they are pronounced almost exactly the same.

Different pronunciations - I-land and Ire-land. I'm with MF on this one.

The pronunciations are different, but not massively so...you could easily confuse someone saying island with Ireland and vice versa.

I think the difference is only really noticable when emphasised...depends on the person anyway I think...

I pronounce it I-lund and Ire-lund anyway.

Never mind pronouncing the country's name... it would be helpful if the Irish commentator on TMS knew anything at all about the opposition team... I wondered if I'd missed something when he started on about Martin Clarke fielding at mid on... and then when he did get as far as calling him Michael it had been Brad Hogg who took the catch.

The on-screen info on 5Live Sports Extra last night confused Jayasuriya with Jayawardene, so that the former was shown as having had two innings. Also, it showed SL's margin of victory as four wickets, not six.

Fernando is by far the worst commentator ever.

To be fair to him its not entirely his fault as his English is not the greatest but still.....

The funniest was when he thought the last ball of the Eng-SL game went for four.
