I would commend Lawrence Booth's excellent introduction to the 2015 Wisden, in which he urged the counties to seek out homegrown talent from our immigrant communities.

He reported that at grassroots level, between 30 and 40% of our cricketers are non-white. But playing first class cricket, just 6% are non-white

“It is perverse to be so reliant on (white) southern Africans and smash-and-grab raids across the Irish Sea, and so ignore the more natural solution on our doorstep,” he wrote.

But then no doubt the bigots on here will dismiss Booth as a Harriet Harman luvvie spouting fake news nonsense!

The first three paragraphs (i.e. the bit that isn't yours) is fair enough. The rest is ludicrous I'm afraid.

Can't argue with that.

You are right. The Harriet Harman luvvie jibe by Shock Jock was not only ludicrous but gratuitously political and offensive. Which is why it has been flagged.

Looks like Chase is getting plenty of turn and bounce. Curious that Holder has held Bishoo back (even with two left handers in).

Weather wise tomorrow looks a good day to bat. If England bat out 4 and a half to 5 sessions there's cloud and rain forecast for Monday and a more worn pitch. If they bat well a draw is still a reasonable expectation and a win possible if West Indies don't handle 4th innings pressure well.

Unless it's swinging there don't look to be demons in the pitch. Maybe it'll get a little two paced and hard to play attacking shots on. The longer England bat the harder for Roach and Gabriel to bowl. No history of spin winning tests at Leeds. Crease occupation and concentration needed.

I love Tom Westley and want him to succeed but he just doesn't look like he has it for test cricket.

I think Westley might just be the worst of the guys we've looked at this summer. Never a test player.

Yup, worst of all the hapless county crap we've tried out over the last three years.

50 for Stoneman. These are good runs.
