He won't miss anymore cricket.
The Tests he missed were not for bringing the game into disrepute but for other reasons. I think it will only be a small fine.

That's true. I'd expect a ban of some sort.

Reasons not related to a Bristol Nightclub incident?

Ben Stokes & Alex Hales fined over Bristol fight

Neither Ben Stokes or Alex Hales will miss any further England matches as a result of their part in a fight outside a Bristol nightclub in September.

Both men faced England and Wales Cricket Board charges over that incident and social media posts, but the subsequent bans were adjudged to be either suspended or already served.

All-rounder Stokes has been fined a total of £30,000 and batsman Hales £17,500, £10,000 of which is suspended.

The most likely outcome and probably the most satisfactory for the majority of English cricket fans. Hopefully accompanied by a quiet comment along the lines of 'last chance'. Now we can all move on and enjoy what the chap has to offer on the field.

Someone once told my wife she should attend anger management classes. She’s still cross about it now, more than a decade later!

It’s a true story! I can’t help that it’s also amusing.

I thought it a more useful contribution than that the ECB panel would be well advised to ignore the events.

Well, there is certainly nothing left to discuss regards this case. I’m sure Stokes will find another reason for us to talk about him again soon enough.

It's on its way, Jock.

Should have known the ECB would bottle it (not the IPA).

He's already had a de facto ban so they didn't add to it.

There could be no doubt that Hales and Stokes dented the reputation of ECB Cricket with their behaviour. However, since the events of well over 12 months past, Stokes (and Hales) have worked on repairing the damage caused through excellence on the cricket field and professionalism off it.

As Trevor Bayliss pointed out, Stokes has been driven in his training and fitness regimen, as evidenced recently in the series in SL. You couldn’t point to a better model for a young cricketer to emulate. Assuming the “repute” being spoken of is of commitment to cricket excellence and not something else.

Given it's Stokes and Hales, he may have been referring to commitment to the local tattoo parlour.

On the field, perhaps (and only "perhaps" as he's shown he can be quite brainless sometimes).

Off it is a different matter.
