Next wicket the flood gates should open, but if these two can last until tea then who knows?

The end is nigh. Root sick again and hasn't come out after lunch. Bairstow goes, still no Root so we get Broad, out for 4 second ball. Root might as well stay indoors.

The two best England batsmen are at the crease. Actually they're not. Curran comes out for Root. Has anybody retired hurt/ill twice in a game? Broad goes quickly and England lose quickly. All over.

I'd be sticking with Crane as well. He has something about him.

Our batsmen are frustrating your desire for it to be all over. They've now got to a drinks break.
...... but hardly past it. All over.

Root should have at least gone out there and did his best today, was very surprised he didnt, he needs to harden up the **** up, watch Dean Jones innings in india for some inspiration, FFS if youre trying to save a test you get out there even if you have to crawl out, that goes double for the captain.

Magnificent innings? the pitch was garbage and it was average to watch, it was also against a worn out and very poor English attack, he rarely does it when we really need it, im not surprised he scored well after we'd won the series, he lacks ticka, his record shows that very clearly..

Graeme Smith came out to bat late in a Sydney test with a broken hand, but they fell just short of saving that test and it wasn't risking his health, just the stability of a bone. |

I'm surprised Root didn't even come out to speak. Is he dying? edit: turns out he was sleeping in the change rooms. That's almost cute. Get some rest Joe.

Discarding a 20yo after a solitarily test on that pitch is beyond stupid.

From what I hear it was quite an effort for Root to have been out there at all.
The rest seemed to have that on-the-plane-tomorrow kind of effort. |

Great example for the team Root is, while the tail ends in the trenches, hes having a nap, seriously anybody ok with that has very low standards for a captain. |
