First mention of Jack Leaning in this thread? He's just completed his third century of the season, and has had a better start to his career than any of Bairstow, Ballance, Root, Lees or Lyth. You'd expect a Lions call-up at the end of the year.

6 now. However, most observers will agree the real class bowler on show is in fact Tim Bresnan.

"on show"? So, impossible to say with any certainty, unless one has been watching.

Shouldn't have to point this out really, but sharing the ball with some very good bowlers may reduce the wickets anyone takes.

I suppose this can leave those who have not considered this with the impression that an opposing bowler has bowled better, simply because the all important numbers are in his favour.

It is well-known around Headingley that Bresnan bedazzles them silly with his beguiling wizardry and they fall, helpless, into the clutches of dastardly Jack Brooks.

I like the reason he gives for not getting enough 5 fers. Rashid wipes up the tail.

Nah, he must be rubbish. The figures prove it.

Oh good broad will be back for the tests to cheer us up even more.

@richardgibson74: Stuart Broad takes 7-84 and hits 34 + 50 for Notts. Then refuses to speak to 'county' reporters. Big PR own goal when all else +ve re Eng.

Really? That is a very poor show . I could understand it only if he was really upset by the manner and degree of Notts' loss to Yorkshire and needed a bit of time to decompress before fronting up on behalf of his team.

I'm not sure anyone from Notts, bar the manager, should be talking to the press. Imagine Broad being interviewed: "So Stuart, you had a good match but the rest were rubbish weren't they?". Notts need their team to stop talking and get on with working out how to stop losing cricket matches. I don't care about players not accepting interviews every time someone asks, especially when the team is on a massive downward slope.

Unusually magnanimous of him.

Looking at the individuals in the Notts team, they've got to do better than this. Broad taking both the bowling and batting honours would certainly suggest so.
