I don't care about players not accepting interviews every time someone asks, especially when the team is on a massive downward slope.

Stuart Broad has rarely been the most diplomatic person, and I suspect he knew that if he was interviewed he would come across as "rather unimpressed" with his team mates' efforts.

Another hundred for Jonny Bairstow - he is currently 128 not out against Durham. If Bayliss has already decided to move Joe Root up to number 3 and it's a straight choice between Ballance and Bairstow at number 5 it makes sense to go with the in-form batsmen. I'd like to think JB has worked on his technical issues (playing across his front pad) in his time away from the international spotlight but even if he hasn't it's not as if Ballance hasn't got his own technical issues (being rooted behind the popping crease and playing across his front pad). Bairstow would improve the fielding too.

A run of form Ian Bell can only aspire to currently.

Match figures of 43.1-5-120-4 at CLS are pretty good to be honest, although probably not enough to earn selection for the 1st test.

His score of 21 in Yorkshire's sole innings should however be sufficient to get him in the side ahead of Gary Ballance.

This is like 2005 when a young Essex opener made a crowd pleasing fast scoring big ton and Ravi knocked it about slowly as Essex made a big score. Let's hope for a comparable series.

Whatever to happened to that young Essex opener who slapped the Aussies about?

Hundred up for Ravi.

Big Bres at his best again last night with 2 overs for an eye watering 29. His captain preferred a 17 year old to bowl his overs at the death (and he was rather good, one waist high full toss aside).

Didn't see it. Any road up, it's T20. Why should anybody care?
