Pakistan vs Sri Lanka tests

This has been a fine series. Sri Lanka won the first test and may well win the second too. Pakistan need 300 more but are one down already.

Chaotic in a good sense. Sri Lanka have been pretty woeful for most of the last year but have come back really well having been seemingly on the scrapheap. However a poor second innings from them in this match that might possibly give Pakistan a route back to sharing the series although the ask looks rather steep. Pakistan have been a mighty team in the UAE for a long while and it would be crazy if SL would win both games.

Pakistan 62-5. I guess the loss of Misbah and especially Younus has been a huge loss to a somewhat brittle batting line-up.

Indeed, not dissimilar to Sri Lanka on that account. I'd have thought Pakistan's bowling would have edged the series in their favour though.

Further evidence that winning the toss is more important in Dubai than pretty much anywhere else I reckon.

Depends if the touring side is from Asia or not.

Yes but there is a case to be made that Indian pitches- decent ones and not dustbowls- actually are at their best on Days 2 and 3 (rather than Day 1). So it does negate the toss somewhat in the sense that either of the two teams could bat well in their respective first innings and insure they bat only once.
