Woakes definitely needed another 100 overs under his belt before Headingley. I played a lot of rugby and with rib injuries, even after it stops hurting, it takes a long time before you trust them.
TRJ looking good and Stokes getting it off the straight again. 102 for 7. Normal service is resumed. And we can all smell a 500th for Jimmy after tea.

Stokes so unlucky. Jimmy will get a wicket next over.

I think Stokes will have some fun with the bat later.

Oops. Always a boundary after a dropped catch.

Cricinfo notes that it could be a double 500 after tea.
Jimmy wickets and Bishoo runs.

Late swinging ball from Stokes. Good long spell. 119-8.

That Anderson over impregnated me, and I'm male. How did he not get a wicket?

And then a wonderful leap from Jimmy to catch at slip and give Stokes his five-for. I really hope he gets his 500 to wrap up this innings.

Just bowl a straight one Jimmy. Far too good for this tail. The way he (and Stokes) was bowling before tea was just too good. Holder knows which end of a bat to hold. In a way, I hope he gets stranded. Would love his 500th to be Warner c Bairstow b Anderson 0.

And Stokes denies Anderson his chance to do it this innings by castling Gabriel.
Stokes is good when it's swinging. |

Magnificent spell from Stokes. If Root had got him into the attack earlier the Windies might have struggled to reach 50. He shouldn't be afraid of taking the senior bowlers out of the attack if they are having a bad day. That's the whole point of a five man attack.

Should be a tricky session for England's top order. They will need to leave well but if the Windies bowlers drop short they ought to climb in.

Brilliant! Jimmy does all the hard work and Big Ben gets all the wickets. Seriously though. 8th (?) person to get his name on both boards at Lords. Pretty good company.

It's one of those little situations in cricket where the pressure on individuals is far greater than the pressure on the team. England would struggle to lose from here but Stoneman, Westley, and Malan will still be looking over their shoulders

Jimmy took a fab catch at slip, by all accounts. What a guy!
